* [#418,Project Grant] - the main avenue by which the Neurological Foundation sponsors research. Applicants can be scientifically or medically qualified, and the research can be clinical or biomedical. Applications close 1 April and 1 September.

* [#421,Small Project Grant] - intended to encourage clinicians and scientists to undertake small-scale or pilot studies that may lead to a larger project. Applications close 1 April and 1 September.

* [#367,Conference or Training Course] - to support international keynote speakers and early career researchers at neurology and neuroscience conferences in New Zealand, or facilitate early career researcher participation in advanced training courses in New Zealand or Australia. Applications close 1 April and 1 September.

* [#422,Summer Studentship] - to provide personal support for students so they can gain research skills and experience. Applications close 1 September.

* [#532,Dawn Fellowship] - to provide personal support for scientists or clinicians to carry out research into Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, peripheral neuropathy, Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. Applications close 1 May (not available).

* [#415,Doctoral Scholarship] - to provide personal support for students undertaking a PhD in basic or clinical neuroscience. Applications close 1 October.

* [#558,Neurology Postgraduate Scholarship] - scholarships for neurologists or neurology trainees, collaboratively funded by the Neurological Foundation, the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), and the Neurological Association of New Zealand (NANZ). Applications close 1 May (when available).

* [#416,First Fellowship] - to provide personal support for outstanding early career researchers so that they can complete their first postdoctoral fellowship under the close mentorship of an academic with a continuing position. Applications close 1 May and 1 October.

* [#420,Senior Research Fellowship] - to provide personal support for outstanding postdoctoral fellows as they establish themselves as independent researchers. Applications close 1 May.

* [#424,Philip Wrightson Fellowship] - to provide personal support for outstanding postdoctoral research fellows undertaking research at (or in collaboration with) international institutions. Applications close 1 May.

* [#31,VJ Chapman Fellowship] - to support medical graduates to pursue a career in academic neurology, neurosurgery, or neuropathology. Applications close 1 May and 1 October.

* [#550,Hackett Memorial Trust Conference and Training Grants] - Promoting and encouraging the study and practice of neurosurgery, through funding to attend conferences, meetings, and training.

* [#558,Neurology Postgraduate Scholarship] - funded collaboratively by the Neurological Foundation, the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), and the Neurological Association of New Zealand (NANZ).

* [#417,O'Brien Clinical Fellowship] - to support non-medical health professionals to pursue a career in clinical research. Applications close 1 May.

* [#419,Senior Clinical Research Fellowship] - to provide personal support for practicing clinicians to carry out clinical research. Applications close 1 May.

* [#423,Travel Grant] - to support recipients of eligible project, scholarship or fellowship funding from the Foundation to attend conferences, meetings, and training.

* [#524,Catwalk Trust Doctoral Scholarship] - Post Graduate Scholarships to study towards a PhD in spinal cord injury research. Applications close 1 October.

* [#515,Catwalk Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship] - A one or two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship to be undertaken either in New Zealand or in an overseas centre of excellence. Applications close 1 October.

* [#500,Catwalk Trust Project Grant] - biomedical or clinical research project aimed at advancing research towards a cure for spinal cord injury. Applications close 1 April and 1 September.

* [#540,Catwalk Trust Translational Award] - to support the translation from the laboratory into the clinic of promising new treatments for spinal cord injury. Applications close 1 April and 1 September.
